The Blue Dog in Chalfont, PA just announced their Pliny the Younger event for this year and is as follows:
“PLINY FOR CHARITY!
Blue Dog is fortunate to have again received one of the very few kegs of Russian River Brewing Co.’s PLINY THE YOUNGER, currently the #3-Rated Beer in the world (per BeerAdvocate.com’s “Top Beers on Planet Earth”)! As we did last year, we will use this opportunity to raise money for charity. Blue Dog will sell tickets redeemable for one glass of Pliny the Younger. Tickets cost $25 each. All proceeds will be donated to charity. 100%.
75% of the money raised will be donated to the Fisher House. The Fisher House is a facility on military bases that provides FREE lodging for military members and their families while the service member endures extended medical treatment, often times as a result of combat-related injuries. Fisher House is a non-profit organization. 96% of their donations go into houses. 2% is administrative and 2% is for fundraising. They aren’t run by the military – they are a gift for the military.
The remaining 25% of the money raised will be donated to Almost Home Foundation, an animal rescue organization with whom Blue Dog has done many fundraisers.
We’ll tap Pliny the Younger on Sunday, March 13 at 11:30 am at our Chalfont location. (Ticket holders need not be present exactly at 11:30 am–A ticket will reserve your glass of Pliny).
We’ll also tap Russian River Brewing Co.’s much-sought Pliny the Elder (currently the #2 beer in the world) and & Consecration. And we have a few more rare treats on the way for this day. Watch for updates.
Tickets may be purchased at either Blue Dog location (Chalfont or Lansdale) beginning Friday, February 25. Act fast—last year tickets sold out in a few days.
Please note! You only need a ticket if you want a glass of Pliny the Younger. If you want any of our other great, rare beers on March 13, just walk on in and place your order!
